Representing the point at which American television reached a point of mature artistry, MOONLIGHTING took the medium to new heights of sophistication while maintaining a sense of lighthearted fun. Fusing the drama and comedy genres while offering convoluted plotlines filled with

The first season begins as the uncompromising former model Maddie Hayes (Cybill Shepherd, THE LAST PICTURE SHOW) loses her fortune to an embezzling accountant; all she has left are a few money-losing businesses retained as tax write-offs. Among these is the Blue Moon Detective Agency, which Maddie plans to sell off until fast-talking detective David Addison (Bruce Willis, DIE HARD, THE SIXTH SENSE, PULP FICTION) convinces her that the business can turn a profit. The two form a partnership, solving the eccentric cases that are forever turning up at Blue Moon. Meanwhile, the wisecracking, smart, but slovenly David and the beautiful, icy, slightly snobbish Maddie navigate the growing romantic tension between them. In season three, Dave and Sam vie for Maddie`s affections, Dave`s father gets married, and the whole cast participates in their own version of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW.
