These tea light holders are from Rajastan, India, and reflect the passion for color that desert environments can engender. They are made in a village cottage industry where the men craft the wooden base and the women apply the lacquer and add an assortment of exquisite tiny mirrors and tiny jewelry. The inspiration is DIWALI, the Festival of Lights, a Hindu celebration of the New Year. It signifies new beginnings. The cottage industry that makes these pieces provides an important secondary income for the subsistence farming community in and around Jaipur, India.
The set of three pillars comes in holiday colors of burnt orange or classic gold.
The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in color and sizing. Subtle shade variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements are approximate.
